Sauna & Cold Plunge in Newtown, PA
Heat that loosens you up. Cold that wakes you up. Together, the oldest recovery ritual there is, and one of the most effective. Infrared sauna, traditional sauna, and cold plunge, all under one roof.
Hot, cold, and everything they do together.
People have been using heat and cold to recover for thousands of years, and for good reason. Few things feel as restorative as a deep sweat followed by a bracing plunge. At Revive Hive in Newtown, we give you all three ingredients: an infrared sauna, a traditional sauna, and a cold plunge.
You can use any one of them on its own, or combine sauna and cold plunge into contrast therapy, which is where a lot of the magic happens. Below, here is what each one offers and how they work best together.
Gentle heat that reaches deep.
Our infrared sauna uses infrared light to warm your body directly rather than just heating the air around you. The result is a deep, comfortable heat at a lower air temperature, which makes it easier to relax and stay in longer.
Many clients prefer the infrared sauna if they find a traditional sauna too intense, or if they simply want a mellow, sweat-it-out session they can settle into.
- Comfortable heat at a lower air temperature
- Easy to relax into for a longer session
- A favorite for supporting recovery and calm
The classic deep sweat.
Our traditional sauna delivers the experience most people picture when they think of a sauna: high heat, hot stones, and that intense, enveloping warmth that gets you sweating quickly. Pour water over the stones for a burst of steam and heat whenever you want it.
If you love a proper hot sauna and the full-body sweat that comes with it, this is your room. It is also the classic starting point for a contrast cycle with the cold plunge.
- High, enveloping heat with hot stones
- The traditional sweat experience
- The perfect first half of a contrast cycle
The reset button.
The cold plunge is short, sharp, and genuinely invigorating. A few minutes, or even a few seconds to start, in cold water is one of the most talked-about recovery tools around, used to support circulation, recovery, and a striking feeling of alertness afterward.
It takes some nerve the first time, but almost nobody regrets it. Our team helps first-timers ease in, and you set the pace. Even a brief plunge is worth it.
- Short sessions, big post-plunge lift
- Ease in at your own pace, no toughing it out
- The bracing other half of contrast therapy
Where heat and cold work together.
Contrast therapy means moving between hot and cold, usually a sauna round followed by a cold plunge, repeated a few times. The heat opens your blood vessels, the cold contracts them, and that back-and-forth is used to support circulation, recovery, and a real sense of resilience.
It is the combination clients ask about most, and for many it becomes the centerpiece of their whole routine. Here is a simple way to approach it.
Heat up
Start with 10 to 15 minutes in the infrared or traditional sauna until you are warm and sweating.
Plunge
Move to the cold plunge for 30 seconds to a couple of minutes. Breathe, stay calm, and let the cold do its thing.
Repeat
Cycle back to the heat and repeat two or three times, finishing however you feel best. Our team helps you find your rhythm.
Who sauna and cold plunge are for.
Athletes use sauna and cold plunge to recover between sessions. Busy professionals use them to reset and de-stress. Plenty of clients simply love how they feel afterward, that clear-headed, loose, alive feeling that is hard to get any other way.
You can go as gentle or as bracing as you like. Start with just the infrared sauna if the cold feels like a lot, and build from there at your own pace.
Before you book
Sauna and cold plunge are wellness services, not a treatment for any disease or medical condition. Heat and cold exposure each carry cautions. They are not recommended if you are pregnant, have a cardiovascular condition, or have uncontrolled high or low blood pressure. Cold plunge in particular may not suit those with cold-sensitivity conditions such as Raynaud's. If you have any medical condition, or you are not sure whether this is right for you, please check with your doctor first and let our team know before your session so we can help.
